10 Useful Programs for Students
The use of computers during our course of study is inevitable, they help us through providing wide range of information, writing reports, essays and journals, and with the pies and the graphs. With an increasing prices of commodities, it is not practical to buy product softwares that are too costly and sometimes are not very useful. With that let me give you some of my favorite programs (and services) which will help you do the job more easier and free!
Open Office
Is a program similar to the Microsoft Office Suite (which includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel and many more) that is preferred by some students because it's free. Open office doesn't differ much than Office, it's text editor is amazing and easy to use. You don't have to worry about file saving and file extensions because Open Office has a feature that let's you save your document as word.More Info: http://why.openoffice.org/

Firefox
If your still using Internet Explorer, your being left behind on what's new and what hot, and what safe, and what superb -tada- Firefox! Firefox is not a new kid on the block, this baby had been kicking the assess of Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera and many more who tries to take over his throne. Firefox is easy to use and safe. What's best about it is that it has a lot of extensions which are for free! You should change your browser from IE to Firefox.

The GIMPGIMP is a a photo manipulation and image creation program which is a good alternative to Adobe Photoshop. This is a free program that boasts its wide-range photo manipulation capabilities. The GIMP is useful if you want to edit your pictures for projects, create posters etc.

Avast
Of course you need to stray away those pesky viruses and malwares from your PC especially if your using a USB drive. My highly recommended free software for virus protection is Avast. Avast is amazing in detecting malwares, and alongside with it is a full pack of updates, boot-scan (a very useful feature), and simple user-interface. My personal bet rather than AVG and Anti-Vir.You might need to register first to fully use Avast (but it's 100% free!)

Prayer Before Examination
Jan 21, 2009This prayer is so powerful and so meaningful. What I use this for is that before every examinations, I recite (and pray) this prayer. Results? It's for you to find out...
PRAYER BEFORE EXAM
BY: Gapuz
Dear God
Today I will take my examination
which is so important to me.
Though I am nervous, I am not afraid
Because I know that as I write my answers
It is YOUR hands that work.
And now, as I take this examination
Please enlighten my mind
to be able to answer correctly
And to recall everything that I have studied.
I will do my best in this exam and to you God
I will entrust my fate
I knoW that whatever will be the result,
it is according to YOUR will.
God gave you life along with intellect, humans are resilient. We are God's perfect creation.
YOU have watched me
Although I don't feel very confident
And I don't know if I am prepared
I truly believe that YOU would give me what I deserve.
I deserve to pass this exam, God.
I am happy that today YOU are with me
For with YOU I will win this battle
And as I close my eyes and feel YOUR presence
In this examination room
YOU put confidence to my heart.
AMEN.

Un ung nakakasakit dun, ung nakakalimutan nilang bayaran.Kaya next time, kung magpapautang ka bigyan mo ng interest or gawa ka ng listahan ng mga nangungutang sau, isama mo na ung address nila at ung telephone no, muka ka ng magpapaybsix."Pautang Naman"
Masakit marinig to kapag "you did your very best" pero expect mo ng marinig to kapag tarantado ka sa school, di nag-aaral, lakwatchero/ra at di nakikinig sa titser. Bage mo!
Shet.
Pero aus lang "for the sake of knowledge" diba?

8 Websites About Jose Rizal
Jan 18, 2009Jose Rizal is probably one of the most searched person by college students if they need resources in their Rizal class or just want to read about the life of our National Hero. With that, I want to make the search much easier by providing 8 useful resources about Jose Rizal.(You won't look for any more resources after this)
1. Wikipedia
Ahh, the good ol' Wikipedia has an extensive article about Jose Rizal including his family, education, works until persecution and death. Wikipedia is also kind for giving a bonus because it included wide list of external links where you can browse too! (Check out his hairstyle during his stay at UST)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JoseRizal
2. JoseRizal.ph
This website is a Bible for all information about Jose Rizal. It is a website dedicated only to the life and works of Jose Rizal. It includes a copy of his poems, summaries of Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, his paintings, and more stuff! You can also save topics for viewing later.

3. University of Wein
Has a large database about Jose Rizal and also has important information like the friendship of Jose Rizal and Blumentritt, translation of his Poems, and Life in Germany. The site also have a virtual travel of Rizal, wherein it is like a map of Rizal's travels.

4. JoseRizal.info
Although the website design is not at it's best, JoseRizal.info cope up with his extensive resource. What I like about this site is almost a full list of his works and writtings which you can download as text file. The best part is that some of his works are translated. I recommend this site if you would like to read more on the works and writtings of Rizal.

5. YouTube
Believe it or not, YouTube has a place in our list. If you need some ideas on how to do your Role Play on Noli or Fili, you can gather a lot of useful ideas here or on how other students interpret a poem of Rizal. And to pay it forward, you need to video your own presentation and upload it in YouTube. YouTube search "Jose Rizal".

A Student's Prayer
Jan 11, 2009Creator of all things, true source of Light and Wisdom, lofty source of all Being, graciously let a ray of Your Brilliance penetrate into the darkness of my understanding and take from me the double darkness in which I have been born, sin and ignorance.
Give me a sharp sense of understanding , a retentive memory, and the ability to grasp things correctly and fundamentally.
Grant me the talent of being exact in my explanations, and the ability to express myself with thoroughness and charm.
Point out the beginning, direct the progress, help in the completion.
Through Christ our Lord.
(a prayer from St. Thomas Aquinas)
